While the famous filmed shows obviously survive in various places (except, it is alleged, "The Beulah Show"), this list focuses on live shows.

This is a list of 1951 ABC shows that exist at the UCLA Film and Television Archive. As mentioned in previous postings, my methods of searching are lazy, so this list is likely incomplete. Also, there may be more surviving 1951 ABC shows at other archives. Quite likely, in fact.

The Bill Gwinn show (1951-06-24) (Also listed as "It Could be You")

College Bowl (1951-03-26) (starring Chico Marx) (do not confuse with the game show of the same name. )

Don Ameche’s Musical Playhouse (1951-08-02, plus another episode from an unknown date)

Don McNeill’s T.V. Club (1951-01-24) (variety series. A 1948 telecast of the radio version can be viewed on this site)

Faith for Today (1951-01-21, 1951-02-11, 1951-03-04, 1951-03-11, 1951-03-18, 1951-04-01) (religious series)

Foodini the Great (nine episodes from unknown dates) (children's series)

Gruen Playhouse (1951-11-22) (anthology drama)

Hollywood Theatre Time (1951-01-17, 1951-01-31, plus two more epsodes from unknown dates)

Kreisler Bandstand (1951-03-21, 1951-04-04, 1951-04-18, 1951-05-02) (music series with guests like Benny Goodman, Peggy Lee, Mel Torme, Thelma Carpenter and Duke Ellington. Sounds like fun!)

Some of these series sound very interesting. Though quite frankly, I can probably live the rest of my life (and my eternal afterlife) without seeing more than a couple sample episodes of "Old Fashioned Meeting", "Faith for Today" and "Space Patrol".
